Saltash

Saltash is a picturesque town that lies just across the River Tamar from Plymouth and is often referred to as the "Gateway to Cornwall". The town centre itself provides many retail outlets and the doctors, dentists, library and leisure centre are all close by.  There are four primary schools, a college and secondary school, along with a local health centre, minor injuries hospital and many places of worship. 

Within Saltash there is the popular China Fleet Golf and Country Club whilst the internationally acclaimed “Jack Nicklaus” course at St Mellion Golf and Country Club is located only 6 miles away.

 

Within the town there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the leisure facilities that are on offer and with its own Sailing Club, the town itself attracts many sailing enthusiasts and other visitors from far and wide. 

 

With its countryside walks and waterside hamlets, Saltash attracts a multiple of people ranging from town lovers to someone searching for a more rural retreat. 

 

South East Cornwall boasts many waterside villages such as St Germans and Cargreen, all within easy commuting distance to Saltash and the city of Plymouth

Saltash is a busy and thriving town, with great transport links into Cornwall and along the A38 corridor.

 

Ivybridge

 

Nestled on the edge of the Dartmoor National Park with a population of approximately 13,000 residents, Ivybridge is ideally located for a wide variety of walks and outdoor pursuits with an abundance of countryside, woodland and riverside scenery to explore.

Ivybridge is conveniently located just off the main A38 road.  There is a local train network providing easy access, to Plymouth and Exeter as well as providing easy commuting to London Paddington, the Midlands and the North.  The regional airport of Plymouth is approximately 15 miles away and provides many national and European flights.  The commute to Exeter and Bristol airports for wider international air travel is also easy using the M5 motorway.  Plymouth town centre is located approximately 12-15 miles away from Ivybridge and has its own unique blend of shopping facilities, but for more extensive shopping Exeter is only a short commute away.  

Ivybridge has fantastic education facilities catering for all age ranges, there are four primary schools and a Community College.  The excellent reputation of both the primary and secondary schools has continued to encourage people from far and wide to choose the area as their principal residence.  Fore Street is the hub of the town offering a wide range of shops and facilities including a leisure centre, local post office, supermarket and restaurant.  The South Dartmoor Leisure Centre is in the centre of Ivybridge and offers the local residents various facilities at their finger tips.  In addition, any keen golfers can enjoy the leisure facilities of Dinnaton Golf Club which includes a 9 hole golf course set within the beautiful south hams countryside as well as swimming and gym facilities.  Ivybridge has also just seen the completion of the Watermark Center, with its library and cinema facilities it has been a welcomed addition that local residents are already enjoying.

Plympton

Plympton offers easy access to the A38 with its links to Bristol and London beyond. The town centre of Plympton has some large high street chains such as Boots and Peacocks as well as smaller independent boutiques offering all the day to day amenities you would expect with Tesco and Sainsbury just a short drive away.

 

Plympton offers two well known comprehensive schools as well as eight primary and junior schools, local swimming pool, squash courts and fitness centre along with tennis, cricket and crown green bowling clubs, all within walking distance of the town centre.

 

There are parts of Plympton that date back to the 1100’s in the Historic St Maurice conservation area of Plympton, this was originally a trading centre for locally mined tin and was the birth place of the World renowned artist Sir Joshua Reynolds. The focal point of St Maurice is the 1000 year old remains of a Motte and Bailey Castle, host to the yearly Lamb Feast.
